Living the Gospel Message through Service

Inspired by Gospel values, the society of St. Vincent de Paul leads men and women to join together to grow spiritually by offering person-to-person service to the needy and suffering. Members of the Society offer tangible assistance to those in need - it is this personalized involvement that makes the work of the Society unique.

Help can take many forms - driving an elderly neighbor to the grocery store or a doctor's appointment, making small home repairs, mowing a lawn, counseling first time job seekers, helping new residents get established in our community.

The Society's work isn't a "program", a "fund drive" or an "event". It is simple, direct, one-to-one help with the basic necessities of life - food, clothing, shelter, transportation - provided as needed while maintaining the confidentiality and dignity of those who are served. It is one neighbor, one parishioner, one Christian reaching out to another in a time of need. We do what we do for the person of Jesus and the person who is Jesus.

"The poor are hungry
not only for food;
thy are hungry to be recognized
as human beings.
They are hungry for dignity
and to be treated as we are treated.
They are hungry for our love."

Mother Teresa
